Senior dogs at A Doggie 4 You in Pipe Creek are set for brighter futures thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization.
The local rescue is one of 100 animal welfare groups selected from nearly 400 applicants to receive a portion of over $1 million in grants aimed at improving the lives of at-risk senior dogs.
“This grant will help us give senior dogs like 9-year-old Cane the veterinary and dental care he needs so he’ll be ready to go to his forever home,” said Patricia Godkin, Executive Director of A Doggie 4 You. “Noone is more grateful or loving than an old dog, and we’re looking forward to helping more senior dogs get the second chance they all deserve.”
The Grey Muzzle Organization, a national nonprofit dedicated to ensuring senior dogs thrive, has provided more than $5.7 million in grants over the past 16 years.
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’re delighted to help deserving organizations like A Doggie 4 You make a positive difference in the lives of dogs and people in their communities,” said Grey Muzzle’s Executive Director, Lisa Lunghofer. “Many senior dogs in Bandera County are enjoying their golden years in loving homes thanks to the lifesaving work of A Doggie 4 You.”
A Doggie 4 You is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit that promotes the spay/neuter of pets, rescues dogs from kill facilities or unsafe environments, and rehabilitates and re-homes them.
