The annual Back to School Bash held at the Lakehills Civic Center (11225 Park Road 37, Lakehills) will be on Saturday, July 27 from 4:30 until 7:30 PM.
The Bash is free and various activities will be provided for school-age students (Pre-K through Grade 12) and their parents. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the Bash.
This year, new requirements to receive free school supplies will be in place. To get a free backpack full of grade level appropriate school supplies, public, private, and homeschool school students must be present to accept the backpack.
Public and private school students must be registered to attend school in Bandera County to receive supplies.
Registration services are available at the Bash, but the organizers recommend registration be completed before the event.
Homeschool students will be accommodated with a special form that verifies their participation in a homeschool program and residence in Bandera County.
Photo identification with address is required from homeschool parents. Any exceptions to these rules will be made after the Bash when contact is made directly with parents.
Students from Medina ISD and Utopia ISD are welcome to attend the Bash, but their school supplies (specific to their district) will be distributed at a later date in their respective towns.
Free haircuts and health services will be provided at the Bash. All public-school students are required to be up to date on their vaccinations to attend school.
The health services provided at the Bash can assist parents with student health needs. Eye screenings will be available through the Lions Club of Bandera.
Crafts, games, music and food will be available to Bash participants.
Everything is free and everyone is welcome to attend the event. Live music, and delicious food will be provided by community organizations.
Administrators from Bandera ISD public schools will be on site in the Community Center to answer questions and register students.
BISD transportation services will have representatives on site to answer questions about bus routes.
Representatives from Pipe Creek Christian School, Vanguard School, and the Vineyard of God School will also be present to answer questions.
Drawings and door prizes will be given throughout the event. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
Samaritan leader Kelly Beedle remarked, “We want everyone to come out and have a good time. There is something for everyone at the Bash.”
The Back to School Bash is sponsored and organized by the Hill Country Samaritans and Bandera ISD. Questions may be sent prior to the event to [email protected].
