On July 11, Bandera County Commissioners approved a total of $362,701 in block grants to various County organizations for 2024-2025, $26,999 less than the total requested from the 15 recipients.

Matching amounts that were allocated last year, the Court voted all in favor to grant Bandera Boys & Girls Club $10,000, Bandera Regional Honors Veterans $1500, Hill Country Crisis Council $2000, Kid’s Advocacy Place $500, Bandera Library $91,667, Lakehills Library $91,667, Medina Library $91,667, San Antonio Food Bank $13,000, and Soil & Water Conservation District $2,000.

The Bandera, Lakehills and Medina Libraries each requested an additional $8,333 to last year’s $91,677, which was not accepted.

The San Antonio Food Bank requested an additional $2,000 to last year’s $13,000 and was also declined.

They will allocate $35,000 to BCCOA-Silver Sage Corral, an increase of $10,000; $2000 to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an increase of $1000; $12,000 to Christian Journey Courses, an increase of $9500; $500 to Courthouse Enrichment (Chamber of Commerce), an increase of $500, since they skipped the grant last year; $7000 to K’Star, an increase of $1500; and $2200 to Utopia Library, an increase of $300.
