The annual Back to School Bash, hosted at the Lakehills Civic Center (11225 Park Road 37, Lakehills), has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 3, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
This free event offers a variety of activities and services for school-age students (Pre-K through Grade 12) and their parents.
Free School Supplies and Requirements This year, students can receive a free backpack filled with grade-level-appropriate school supplies.
However, certain requirements must be met to qualify:
• Presence Requirement: All students (public, private, and homeschool) must be present at the event to receive their backpacks.
• Registration: Public and private school students must be registered to attend school in Bandera County. Registration services will be available at the event, but early registration is recommended.
• Homeschool Verification: Homeschool students need a special form verifying their participation in a homeschool program and residence in Bandera County. Homeschool parents must present photo identification with their address.
Students from Medina ISD and Utopia ISD are also invited to attend the Bash, but their specific school supplies will be distributed later in their respective towns.
Additional Services and Activities
The event offers more than just school supplies. Free haircuts and health services will be provided, including eye screenings by the Lions Club of Bandera. All public-school students must be up to date on their vaccinations to attend school, and the health services at the Bash can help parents meet these requirements.
Crafts, games, live music, and delicious food will be available to all participants, courtesy of community organizations. Drawings and door prizes will be held throughout the event, adding to the fun and excitement.
Meet the Educators and Get Informed
Administrators from Bandera ISD public schools will be present in the Community Center to answer questions and assist with student registration.
Representatives from BISD transportation services, Pipe Creek Christian School, Vanguard School and the Vineyard of God School will also be available to provide information and answer any questions parents might have.
