The Bandera High School band received straight ones, the highest possible score, at last week’s Region 29 UIL 4A Marching Competition held at Antler Stadium in Kerrville, securing a spot in the upcoming area competition that will occur Dec. 5 in Buda. Under the direction of head band director Joe Cortez, the band performed their show titled “Around the World” alongside its fellow 4A competitor, the Boerne High School Band, led by Jason Younts, who also advanced to the upcoming area competition.
