Hill Country Cattlewomen to meet

Spring is in the air, and The Hill Country Cattle-Women will be celebrating at The Fly Gap Winery in Mason on Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m.

Spring is in the air, and The Hill Country Cattle-Women will be celebrating at The Fly Gap Winery in Mason on Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m.

Award-winning vintner Brock Estes, owner of Fly Gap Winery, will share his experience and knowledge of the wine production in Mason County.

He will also share the background of how his winery came to be, including how it got the interesting name of “Fly Gap” Winery.

Chef Sam Palacio of Willow Creek Cafe, who is also a private chef in Mason, will delight with Garlic & Honey Steak Bites, served over creamy cauliflower mash, paired with buttered asparagus, and peach cobbler.

Lunch will be served at noon at a cost of $23 per person. Wine by the glass will be available for individual purchase.

The Hill Country CattleWomen are currently accepting applications for three scholarship levels.

Applications and information on our high school, trade school and college (minimum of 60 hours college credit) scholarships will be available at the meeting and can be found online at hillcountrycattlewomen.org/foundation.

Tickets to The Cattle-Women’s biggest fundraiser of the year, The Spring RoundUp Dinner and Dance, will be available for purchase along with raffle tickets for a brand-new 2024 Kawasaki 4010 4x4 Mule.

The RoundUp will be held at Lady Bird Johnson Park, Pioneer Pavillion on May 4.

The Fly Gap Winery is located at 117 North Spring St. in Mason.
