I talked to one of my neighbors for the first time since moving into this rural neighborhood two years ago. I wish I could say it was because this virus quarantine is leading us to reach out to each other, but it’s not the case.
This neighborhood is back-country on the edge of a tourist area with a scattering of tourist rentals. My neighbor is one of the original families to settle this area. We are ‘Hey neighbors,’ who wave as I drive into town, but everyone around here keeps to themselves. Nice, but not exactly friendly.
Yet still, it’s pretty bad ...
