Laycee Gibson, a 2016 graduate of Bandera High School and a political science major at Texas A&M University, recently began a spring 2020 internship in Washington, D.C. She will spend the spring working in the office of U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, whose congressional district includes Bandera County.
Gibson is one of 22 students selected for an internship through the Public Policy Internship Program at A&M, university officials said.
Her duties for the congressman include monitoring legislation, attending hearings, preparing reports, and researching policy issues for senior staff members.
Gibson is the daughter of Kevin and Laurie Tate.
