BELOVED LONGHORN IMMORTALIZED AT OST

Redneck the Longhorn has passed on to the great pasture in the sky, but his taxidermied head and shoulders stands watch over the OST main dining room enthralling customers with his majesty.

The twenty-three-year-old longhorn steer owned by Wes Hatch had spent his final days posing with tourists when old age brought him low.

Being such a big part of the Main Street tourist scene and a representative of the Great Western Trail cattle drives, Hatch has allowed the iconic animal to be placed above the bar at the OST Restaurant.

His deep rusty red hide and 8-foot-long horns provide a cachet to the restaurant that no other mount could provide.

Old Spanish Trails Restraunt is located at 311 Main St. It is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Monday.
