A crowd of parents and youngsters came together at the Bandera River Park on Saturday morning to take part in the second annual Bandera General Store Easter Parade.
The sky was overcast, and the weather was cool, but the crowd did not let that dim their fun.
The audience brought their dogs and lawn chairs to enjoy the event.
Nineteen youngsters registered for the parade and came dressed in their Easter best.
The parade was hosted by the Bandera General Store, Trail Life Troop 9112 and American Heritage Girls Troop 4567.
The festivities began at 10 AM, Sophiana Smith representing the American Heritage Girls Troop 4567 played guitar and the Easter story was read to the group. Parade Marshall Chris Dion led the parade. The parade was accompanied by bubbles which were a big hit with the youngsters.
Judges Marshal Nancy De-Foster and Library Director Paul Phelan were in charge of judging the entrants.
Several local businesses provided prize baskets and snacks for the group.
Lowe’s Grocery Store, Rose Realty, Cocoanut Cowboy, Bandera City Marshal’s Office, Good Ground Farms of Pipe Creek, Hauer Brothers AC, Bandera Electric Cooperative, Bandera Library and Scotty provided prize baskets for the event.
Paul Hilliard provided the sound equipment and was the master of ceremonies for Parade.
After the parade, the group shifted to the Bandera First Baptist Church where they participated in the Easter egg hunt.
Over 100 youngsters ran to find eggs on the Church grounds in a dash to see who could recover the most.
After the hunt, the families and children enjoyed their Easter candy and chatted with each other at the end of the event.
