Earlier this month, Governor Greg Abbott appointed Bandera County Judge Richard Evans and five others to the Governing Board of the Texas Indigent Defense Commission.Evans’ term is set to expire Feb. 1, 2026.The Commission provides financial and technical support to counties to develop and maintain quality and cost-effective indigent defense systems.Evans, who is in his 28th year as Bandera County Judge, is a member and former chair of the Committee of Six and the Alamo Area Council of Governments.An Eagle Scout, Evans received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University.In addition to Evans, Abbott appointed James “Jim”
