Jail, courthouse proposal priced at $76,000

The Fisher Heck Architect firm’s $76,000 proposal to restore the old jail and courthouse on 12th street was approved by the Bandera County Commissioners earlier this month, though the decision as not unanimous. Precinct Four Commissioner Jody Rutherford voted against approving the proposal during the court’s Feb. 9 meeting.Rutherford did not return the Bulletin’s request for comment by press time.The project attached to the proposal intends to convert to the future home of the Bandera County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and conceivably a museum and new location for the Chamber of Commerce.Heck’s plan is to reestablish the historical jail ...
