State Rep. Andrew Murr, R-Junction, was one of four state lawmakers who were recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving as its 2019 legislative champions in Texas.
Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick also made the list of champions, who the organization said worked tirelessly to eliminate what it calls “the 100 percent preventable crime of drunk driving.”
Recognized with Murr and Patrick were state Sen. José Menéndez, D-San Antonio, along with state Rep. James White, R-Hillister, and Rep. Reggie Smith, R-Sherman.
A news release said Murr and Menéndez authored House Bill 3582, which mandates the use of ignition interlocks for any deferred adjudication agreement,
