New COVID death reported
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) reported a new COVID death earlier this month, bringing the total death count since the start of the pandemic to 79.
According to DSHS, there have been 2,850 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bandera County and 1,173 probable cases.
In Bandera County, 51.08 of the eligible population has received a COVID-19 vaccine and 44.76 are completely vaccinated, according to DSHS.
According to DSHS, 74.95 percent of the state has received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 62.44 percent of the population is completely vaccinated.
Statewide, COVID-19 continued to drop. In total, 53,874 new cases were reported along with 192 deaths, according to the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University, who notes this number does not include at-home tests.
DSHS reported 2,733 lab-confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations, down about 10 percent from the previous week.
