Long time resident of Bandera County Sara Herzing Porter entered into eternal rest on Dec. 1, 2023, at the age of 80.Sara Herzing was born in Del Rio, Texas on Jan. 29, 1943, to Elizabeth Nell Swope Herzing and George Murdock Herzing.In 1955, her family purchased a 50-acre farm and moved to Uvalde, Texas where Sara graduated from high school in 1961. After 2 years of attending Uvalde junior college, Sara transferred to Southwest Texas State where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education on Aug. 20, 1966.
