Bulldogs trounce Longhorns
The Bandera Bulldogs trounced the Harper Longhorns on Tuesday, November 16. The Bulldogs struggled during the first quarter with only four points against the Longhorns’ seven. During the second quarter, Coach Keane lit a fire and the Bulldogs made up a lot of ground.
Noah Barnett started off the second quarter with a two from the floor while Kayden Brown hit a three from the baseline. Noah Barnett hit two more goals and a foul shot to push the Bulldogs ahead. Noah’s turnaround jump shots showed classic soft touch techniques. With Tyler Moore’s rebounds and Elijah Salas’ hustle, the Bulldogs pulled ahead in the second quarter at 29 to the Longhorns’ 13.
After the half, the Bulldogs came out ready to play and Noah Barnett hit anoth er jump shot with Gavin Ortiz putting in a 3 from downtown. Salas did his part with a bucket from the key, while Ryan Perez got a two to put the score at 38 to the Longhorns 31 at the end of the third quarter.
A big play from Kayden Brown put the Bulldogs further in the lead with Tyler Moore hitting a 3. Scrappy play by Gavin Ortiz and Noah Barnett helped the Bulldogs run the floor. Braden Cox’s rebounds helped the Dogs dominate. By the 5-minute mark, the Bulldogs had a 15-point lead against the Longhorns. The end of the game showed the Bulldogs at 67 with the Longhorns at 42.
The Bulldogs returned to action on Tuesday, November 23 against SA Kennedy. No scores were available at press time for that game. On Saturday November 27, the Bulldogs will play Dilley in Dilley. They will return to their home court on Tuesday, November 30 to play Boerne Geneva.
