Medina’s DeLeon earns 1,000th career point

Medina High School basketball earned key wins in Leakey on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The Lady Cats entered the contest needing a win to keep their season alive and put them in a tie for the final spot in the State Playoffs.

Medina High School basketball earned key wins in Leakey on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The Lady Cats entered the contest needing a win to keep their season alive and put them in a tie for the final spot in the State Playoffs.

While the game was a back and forth battle throughout, the Lady Cats pulled away in the fourth quarter to seal the victory 39-30.

Boys basketball followed with the Bobcats taking a commanding lead from the first minute and never slowing down.

Senior TJ DeLeon was the star of the night earning his 1000th career point with his classmates and teammates holding up banners and jumping up and down in his honor.

The score was 72-46 Bobcats at the final buzzer.

In junior high action, the Lady Cats and Bobcats played in their District Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 3rd.

The Junior High Bobcats earned Consolation honors with a win over Utopia by a score of 35-13.
