The Bandera High School Academics, Speech, and Debate teams compet-ed at the Boerne Invitational earlier this month against 24 school and came home with several awards, including the first-place Sweepstakes award for the speech team, officials said.
Other team members who placed at the competition were Duggan Persyn, first place in science and chemistry, fifth in number sense and sixth in mathematics; Aidan Prater, first place in Lincoln-Douglas debate; Michael Nevarez, first place in prose; Cade Koenig, third place in science; Ryan Molnar, third place in computer applications;
Ryan Zimmel, fourth place in informative speaking; Griffin Morsi, sixth place in computer science;
