Bulldogs keep improving
In the first two home games for the Bandera Bulldogs the teams favored the second half to put points on the board and bring home the win.
In the September 3 game against Cotulla and the one last Friday against Cole, the Bulldogs played a back-and-forth, scoreless first half.
When the second half started in both of those games, Bandera came back with Bulldog determination to outplay Cotulla 14-13 and run over Cole 21-0.
Bandera improved to a 2-1 season record after putting together their most complete performance, grinding out a physical win while controlling the trenches on both sides of the ball from start to finish.
Bandera celebrated Military Appreciation Night before kickoff Friday night, honoring, thanking and recognizing those who served in the armed forces.
“I want to say a special thank you to our service men and women,” Bandera athletic director and head football coach Joel Fontenot-Amedee said. “It was so awesome to get to honor them in so many ways on Friday.”
“I’m also very proud of our kids this week,” he continued. “We lay our hat on being physical, disciplined and conditioned. We also pride ourselves on winning the fourth quarter, which we have now done two weeks in a row.”
The Bulldogs’ next game is a home game against the Comfort Bobcats.
