Bandera Library Happenings
A new program has begun at the Bandera Library. Come by tomorrow, March 24, at 4 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room and join the Bandera County Gardeners.
Where I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, you could plant a pencil eraser and somehow a bougainvillea would bloom. That is not the case here in Bandera. So come by with your questions and advice and take advantage of a dedicated group of gardeners who have been growing and cultivating here in Bandera County. If you are naturally a green thumb or if you are simply interested in starting a garden this year, this is the place for you.
While you are at the library, be sure to check out some of the wonderful books on Texas veggie, landscape and flower gardening in the collection.
Monday at 10 a.m. is our weekly Watercolor class, also in the Downstairs Meeting Room. At 4:30 p.m. our Official Pokemon League meets for a great round of Pokemon: The Card Game and to discuss favorite anime and manga.
Have you read our Weekly Blog? On our home page we have a weekly update with a little bit of history, humor and a list of recommended reading.
When you come by the library, the recommended reading titles are on our featured wall for you to peruse. If you feel like you have read every title in the library, check out the Recommended Reading wall and our weekly blog for new ideas.
If there is a title you have been dying to read but the library doesn’t own a copy, consider adopting the book.
Our Adopt-A-Book program allows patrons to buy a book for the library’s collection at-cost and the adopter gets first dibs on reading it. We can also include your name as the donor inside the front cover.
The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Masks are strongly recommended while in the library building. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all up-to-date information.
Happy tales, y’all.
Mauri Guillen Fagan is the Director of the Bandera Public LIbrary
