Zapata wins Democratic Congressional runoff
With 100 percent of counties and precincts reporting, Claudia Andreana Zapata has won the Democratic primary runoff election for the U.S. House District 21 Race.
Zapata carried 64 percent of the vote to Ricardo Villarreal’s 36.
In Bandera County, Zapata received 212 votes for 74.39 percent of the vote. Villareal received 73 votes for 25.61 percent of the vote.
"We are grateful for everyone who has helped in their own way," Zapata said in a statement Tuesday night. "We did this together. And together we will win in November."
