The Medina Community Center will celebrate 70 years of operation on Memorial Day, May 25, with a special event that will benefit the community garden and greenhouse and offer special recognition to military veterans that attend, officials said.
The center at 13857 Highway 16 North in Medina is available for use by residents and organizations in the Medina community.
It had been operated by the Medina Volunteer Fire Department, which still uses the facility for meetings and training. But it was seen as being outside of the department's operational scope and was returned to the community for oversight.
