ERNEST C. REICH III

Ernest C. Reich III of Lakehills, Texas, passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 16, 2025, in Boerne, Texas. Born December 15, 1940, to Ernest C. Reich Jr. and Evabelle Anna (Simon) Reich in San Antonio, Texas. Ernest married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Stanton, on May 22, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in San Antonio. They had one son, William Ernest Reich, who resides in Lakehills.

Ernest graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1958 and worked for Marine Sales Company in San Antonio, owned by his father. After moving to Garland, Texas, Ernest worked for Texas instruments and then Varo, designing high-voltage power supplies. In 1970, he and Brenda started Reich Associates, Inc. in Plano, later moving the business to Lakehills. Reich Associates operated for 51 years. During this time Ernest designed several power supplies, including one for NASA that powered screens for space training simulators.

Ernest served as a reserve deputy for the Collin County Sheriff’s Department, and later as the Civil Defense Officer for the City of Plano and Collin County. After moving to Lakehills in 1983, he became a reserve deputy in 1985 and served as Constable for Precinct 2 from January 1, 1989, to December 31, 2020.

Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda, and his parents. He is survived by his son, William and wife Sharon, grandson Justin Reich and wife Pam, granddaughter Emily Burnett and husband, granddaughter Hannah Reich, and three great-grandchildren: Amelie, Liam, and Everleigh.

A service will be held on March 1, 2025, at 2 pm at Lakehills United Methodist Church, followed by a graveside service at Pipe Creek Cemetery and a reception at the church hall.
