ROSALYN “ROZ” HUNT BROWN

Rosalyn “Roz” Hunt Brown, 91, of Bandera, Texas, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Kerrville, Texas.

Born in Kenedy, Texas, to Louis Hunt and Aileen Stevens, Roz built an impressive career in television. She began in the 1950s at KENS (CBS) Channel 5 in San Antonio and later retired in the 1990s in Houston as Vice President of Programming for FOX TV. Upon retirement, she returned to Bandera, where her mother’s family, the Smiths and Stevenses, were early settlers dating back to 1850.

Roz was deeply committed to her community, serving as an active board member for the Bandera Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Boys & Girls Club of Bandera. Known for her warmth and generosity, she cherished her many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dallas Boyette and Pat Brown, as well as her son Jeff. Her sisters, Marlene Pape of Bandera and Maxine Hunt of San Antonio, also predeceased her.

Roz is survived by her son, Michael, and daughter, Toni, along with seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on April 12, 2025, at Bandera Funeral Chapel, followed by interment at Bandera Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Roz requested that donations be made to the Bandera Public Library and the Boys & Girls Club of Bandera in her memory.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
