ROBERT “BOB” STEVEN LEINWEBER
ROBERT “BOB” STEVEN LEINWEBER
Bob was born in San Diego, California on January 12, 1946 to Robert E.Leinweber and Mary A.Leinweber who both preceded him in death. After moving to Texas, Bob spent nearly 40 years running his company, Hill Country Roofing, where he earned the reputation of being an honest and respectable businessman throughout the Texas Hill Country. Bob’s legacy lives on through his grandson, Brad Bolin, who has owned and operated Hill Country Roofing since Bob’s retirement.
Bob’s greatest treasures were his daughters (Kim and Karen) and his grandchildren (Brad, Alyssa, and Taylor). When he wasn’t putting roofs on houses or driving around the Hill Country in one of his many (many!) Dodge duallies, you could find him taking his daughters to grab Chinese for lunch or taking his grandchildren to monster truck shows, hockey games, and Spurs games. Bob also never missed a birthday party, stock show, baseball game, softball game, or gymnastics meet. Notably, after each of these events, Bob always made sure to take everyone out to lunch where he was notorious for starting a good ol’ fashioned food fight.
Most importantly, Bob always had a need for speed, which he passed on to Brad at a very early age. The two of them traveled the country for years driving race cars. Bob always made sure that Brad had the best and fastest race cars. He was very well known as the “cool grandpa.”
As his grandchildren grew older, Bob found a new passion in showing miniature horses with his wife, Dottie. He and Dottie traveled the country spending their weekends in the show ring, winning countless competitions and world championships. As his grandchildren started having children, Bob found himself again right back at the front of every baseball game, volleyball game, and stock show for his great-grandchildren.
Bob’s most prized possession was his 25 year old coffee mug that was covered in faded baby pictures of Brad, Alyssa, and Taylor. Every morning, Bob would have his coffee “with his grandkids” and send text messages to each of us saying, “Thinking of you this morning.
Love you!” We will all miss those random text messages!
Bob leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Leinweber; his two daughters, Kim Bolin (Guy) and Karen Markwordt (Jeff); his three grandchildren, Brad Bolin (Courtney), Alyssa Barcheers (Jaryn), and Taylor Markword (Mason); and four great-grandchildren, Avery, Kade, Jason and Jordan.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
