EVAN JOSEPH BOWMAN
EVAN JOSEPH BOWMAN
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Jo Bowman, and his uncle, Paul Amos Lawson III. He is survived by his mother, Melinda (Mindy Hoffman) Bowman, father David (Dave) Bowman, sisters Layney and Sydney Bowman, brother Alec Bowman, grandfather Larry Bowman, grandfather Rex Hoffman, and Grandmother Marian Hoffman. Aunts and uncles Carl and Teresa Madison, Marty and Kristy Rieken, Jayme Lawson, Jared and Jessica Hoffman, and cousins, Tomas and Morgan Daly, Aaron and Mackenzie Glazewski, Kyler, Keaten, Kort, Kasper, and Maelie Rieken, Henry, Elliot, and Spencer Lawson, Amelia, and Luke Hoffman.
Evan enjoyed spending time with his friend’s playing basketball, soccer, and video games. He was often found at the BGC Teen Center and in the summer loved swimming at the river. On family trips to the coast, Evan was usually the first one in the ocean (especially after breaking open a rotten coconut) and the last to get out no matter how cold the water may have been.
During trips to Iowa to see family, Evan liked hanging out with his cousins, although he didn’t always enjoy helping with their sheep. He was always joking around with the younger ones, teaching them to say, “Guess what? Chicken butt!” Evan was quite an entrepreneur for his young age and had a knack for making money. He was always selling t-shirts or other items on eBay and even sold snacks and drinks at school until he almost got caught. Evan always seemed to be eating something. We always joked that we couldn’t keep enough food in the house. His absolute favorite was Chick-fil-A and any Chinese food. And he probably drank more Dr. Pepper than was good for him.
He loved watching Supernatural, Stranger Things, Cobra Kai, Outer Banks, Disney Shows, especially Teen Beach, and The Office. We could always count on a laugh, especially when he dressed up as Dwight Schute for Halloween one year. He had a special relationship with each of his siblings as a younger and older brother. They had their share of arguments, but you always knew how much he cared for and loved Layney, Sydney, and Alec. Evan’s goofy sense of humor is his signature trait that all his loved ones will remember and miss the most.
