Three hundred students from as far away as Houston and Edinburg traveled to Bandera on Dec. 13 and 14 to compete in the Bandera High School Academic Decathlon Practice Meet.
The annual meet sponsored by Bandera High gives competitors a chance to sharpen their knowledge and hone their skills before competing in the statewide academic decathlon competition in March.
The theme for this year’s decathlon event is “In Sickness and in Health: An Exploration of Illness and Wellness.”
The competition consists of written tests in art, economics, literature, mathematics, music and science, and a Super Quiz, which is like the College Bowl competition,
