“Aggressive” hurricane forecast for Gulf Coast
Colorado State University researchers are calling this year’s hurricane season forecast “the most aggressive” ever, the Texas Standard reported. They say there is a 54% chance a hurricane will strike the Texas coast, and a 25% chance it will be major.

DEMS HOLD CONVENTION
The Bandera County Democratic Party met at the Silver Sage Community Center on Saturday, March 23, for their county convention. The state convention will be held June 6-8 in El Paso. The Democratic Club meets the second Saturday of every month. The club invites all to attend a “Historical Women of Bandera County” presentation in conjunction with the Hill Country League of Women Voters. The event will be presented by Rebecca Norton, Executive Director of the Frontier Times Museum, on Saturday, April 27 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the BEC Community Room.

Trichomoniasis causing dove mortality
The National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) has confirmed several doves collected across Texas, including the Trans Pecos and Rolling Plains, tested positive for Trichomoniasis.

REGULATORS PAY IT FORWARD
The Meals on Wheels program at the Silver Sage Community Center received a $25,000 donation last month of $25,000 from The Cowboy Capital Regulators. Head regulator Buck Murray arrived with a large group to present the check to Silver Sage Executive Director Art Crawford. The Regulators host the Red and Black Ball each year in February to support the Silver Sage Community Center. The Silver Sage serves seniors through its Meals on Wheels program, bringing hot lunches daily to those in need. For more information or to volunteer, call the Silver Sage at 830-796 4969.
