The laundry can wait I think I need to give my wife a talkin’ to… The other day, I did some laundry. Mind you, it’s no secret around here that, by design, I suck at doing laundry. You see, I learned early on in life that exhibiting a lack of proficiency at a task in the presence of folks who fancy themselves proficient at whatever the task may be will invariably elicit enough sympathy, or frustration, to get them to do it for you. This has been my lifelong approach to the cleaning of my dirty clothes.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Hill Country CASA is raising awareness of the need for more dedicated members of the community to step up and become CASA volunteers, and help end child abuse and neglect, through supporting children and their families.

Bandera County Child Welfare Board has taken up the cause to proclaim April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month in Bandera County and to call on citizens, elected officials, community agencies, medical facilities, faith-based groups and businesses to increase efforts to support families.

The Silver Sage Hill Country Resource Center will host a free flu and COVID-19 immunization clinic this Friday, March 29, in the Silver Sage Great Room.

The Commissioners Court of Bandera County, Texas, will convene for a regular meeting Thursday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at the Bandera County Courthouse located at 500 Main St., Bandera.
