A new electrical system and LED lighting will help American Legion Post 157 provide enhanced space for community gatherings thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and Bandera Electric Cooperative.

The 2024 Bandera County Junior Livestock Show will be held Jan. 11-13 at Mansfield Park outside Bandera, and officials believe it will be a big success like last year.

Norman Joel Stephens, 88 years old, of Boerne, Tx, passed away Dec. 24, 2023. He was born in Edinburg, Tx to Cecil Vernon Stephens and Maggie Jerusha Stephens Feb. 20, 1935. He was married to Mary Carolyn Stephens Dec. 22, 1958 in Edinburg, Tx.

The Mandry family opened their new pizza restraunt in June after saving for the venture over a four-year period. “Going from knowing nothing about the food service industry to learning it all in a month was a lot,” said Kori. “We basically had to spend 34 hours a day learning, reading, talking to people.”
