CARF International, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, announced that Peterson Health has been accredited for a period of three years for its comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation and stroke specialty programs.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) reported they recently received confirmation of two cases of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in a Real County deer breeding facility, marking the first detections in the county.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Hill Country CASA is raising awareness of the need for more dedicated members of the community to step up and become CASA volunteers, and help end child abuse and neglect, through supporting children and their families.

Bandera County Child Welfare Board has taken up the cause to proclaim April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month in Bandera County and to call on citizens, elected officials, community agencies, medical facilities, faith-based groups and businesses to increase efforts to support families.
