The Bandera County Republican Party held its Precinct and County Conventions on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Pipe Creek Community Center.
Apparently about several tracts totalling around 400 acres were purchased on Hwy. 1340 across the road from Camp Stewart, by an out of town developer and were being cleared, trees burned and roads built including down into the Guadalupe River. Ron Duke, of the Kerr County Water Alliance (KCWA-contact page on website), reported this major river and land violation to me and others on March 21st. This is a new citizen's group formed to observe and protect our county's water resources. As you know, groundwater (aquifers) and the river comprise the bulk of our Kerr County water supplies and they are connected - groundwater produces the springs, which in turn produce most area creek and river flows.
There are four political party “Committees” in Texas: Democrat, Republican, Independent, and Green. Other Political Action Committees (PACs) can be established for general or specific purposes. Texas Government Code Chapter 251 and the Texas Ethics Commission “Campaign Finance Guide for Committees” are the primary governing documents for PAC administration. For example, the Bandera County Republican Women’s Club (BCRW) PAC was established in December 2003. It is registered and visible on the Attorney General’s website. The Bandera County Republican Party (BCRP) website identifies its goals, mission, and vision: https://www.banderacountyrepublicanparty.com/about. The BCRW and BCRP have worked closely together for years toward shared goals.

Beware of people who are oblivious to the obvious. People who lose an election, and believe they won. Not based on evidence. But based on what they “feel.”

WAKE UP AMERICA!
Or end up with strange laws that don’t meet Texans’ real needs in today’s scary times...
“With The Marines at Tarawa” is the most terrifying World War II film I have ever seen. Every American who loves our country has an obligation to watch it. It’s real and it’s accurate.
The Hill Country CattleWomen will start the New Year with a gathering at the Y.O. Ranch Hotel and Conference Center, located in Kerrville, at 2033 Sidney Baker Street, for their annual January Legislative Meeting.
Wow, Silver Sage future sounds like Utopia on Earth! However, expressions like creation of ‘a more inclusive and just society,’ ‘racial and ethnic disparities,’ ‘empowering people and building equitable communities’ means Federal Government money. With that comes OBLIGATIONS to the government — so get ready Bandera!
The Oxford dictionary describes Vermin as people that are perceived as despicable and as causing problems for the rest of society.
I live outside the city and therefore don’t get too involved in city politics, but I do care if the city seems to be making poor decisions regarding who is hired, whether as a city official or as a consultant. We (Bandera as a whole) end up looking like either rubes or slackers.
As just another Bandera County retiree, I would like to voice my opinion about the editorial written by Abraham Schneck in last week’s paper.
