Phillip “Mason” Hunt, born the 23rd of May 1962 in Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 29th, 2024, where his mother welcomed him into heaven by providing a rainstorm on his beloved ranch in Bandera, Texas.

The Bandera City Council voted unanimously to officially approve new drought and water restrictions on June 25, with the new changes including allowing citizens to hand-wash vehicles, water gardens and fill pools between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

I am blessed to have a fairly good memory bank to recall events when longing for the earlier times as a kid in Bandera.

Three Lakehills Area Library board members were honored for their years of dedicated service in a ceremony, on June 23, at the library. Ellen Johnston, Estella Hicks, and Gerry Fitzgerald were given certificates designating them as Directors Emeritus.

Longtime Bandera resident and business owner Lady Weldon “Bungy” Hedley Grant Ellington Hartshorn Eberhardt passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, at the LaGrange home of her daughter and son-in-law, Ballan and Dan Keen. Bungy would have been 90 in November and will be fondly remembered by all in Bandera for her outgoing zest for life and love for the “Cowboy Capital of the World!”
